The new Gaahleri Mobius-TG airbrush is different from other airbrushes thanks to its new nozzle cap, which allows to cover a much larger area with each pass.
In armoured modelling, it is ideal for large models or all the new 1/16 scale kits that are coming out recently. It is also perfect for large-scale aircraft or ships.
The airbrush comes in an elegant cardboard box with a detachable top lid. Inside, the airbrush is adequately protected in rigid foam, with a layer of thin foam on top.
In addition to the airbrush, the box includes a high-capacity cup with lid, another nozzle cap with a smaller coverage area, a set of replacement seals, a quick connector for the air source, and an instruction manual.

The Mobius airbrush shares similarities with previous Gaahleri models, resembling a paint gun in its overall shape, but distinguished by its significantly wider front.
Aesthetically, it is very attractive, with a shiny metal body, dark grey plastic handle and a golden ring. The tail is hollow and spiral-shaped.
The ergonomic design of the airbrush ensures a comfortable and balanced grip, making it suitable for extended use. The needle size is 0.5 mm. and it is gravity fed. It is also double action, so that slightly pressing the trigger releases only air, and increasing the pressure of the finger gradually releases more paint.

Disassembly is straightforward, as the product features a floating nozzle that eliminates the need for tools. Here you can see the main parts, with the big cup and two nozzle caps.
Note that the seals in contact with paint are made of Teflon, much more resistant to solvents than rubber.

As said, the main distinctive feature of the airbrush is its nozzle cap, with two additional air outlets that open up the paint cone much more, turning it into a wide ellipse.
Other interesting features of this airbrush are that it includes pressure control under the nozzle for fine adjustment, without having to adjust the compressor. Since it is not going to be used for precision work but for wide coverage, I don't think this accessory is very useful, but it doesn't get in the way either.
On the other hand, there is also a needle travel limiter. This is very convenient as it allows you to maintain a constant flow of paint without effort.
The hollow tail allows to pull back the needle without spraying, for easier cleaning in mid-sessions of painting.
The large cup is definitely a must, as the airbrush consumes paint quickly.

Another more traditional nozzle cap without a fan effect is also included. However, even with this nozzle, the size of the paint cone is larger than usual for a 0.5mm needle.

In use, this airbrush requires considerably more pressure than normal airbrushes to function properly, as additional airflow is needed for the side outlets.
The airbrush performs its function perfectly, covering a significantly larger area than a normal airbrush and allowing you to paint large surfaces much more quickly.
In these tests, both the fan nozzle and the normal nozzle have been used, and you can see that the pattern is noticeably larger with the fan nozzle. For the tests, I have used Vallejo ModelAir Dark grey paint diluted with its own thinner.
This first image is the result of spraying a single pass on an A4 paper sheet using the fan cap.

The second, again with the same paint and A4 paper, is using the regular cap at different distances from the paper in one pass.

Conclusion
This new Gaahleri airbrush offers a significant larger spray pattern than other airbrushes, even for similar needle size. It is thus specially suited for painting large models, and it excels at this task. The grip contributes to the comfortability and easiness of use.
Disassembling and cleaning is a straightforward process thanks to the floating nozzle and construction similar to a traditional airbrush, except for the handle.
If you like painting big models, the Mobius-TG will save you time and effort.
